Let met quote the description of Thysanozoon nigropapillosus in Gosliner et al. (1997) at page 111:
"Members of this genus have two male pores. The dorsal surface is black, and is covered with short papillae, which are tipped in yellow. There is a bold white line around the edge of the body."
The above specimens have been identified by Dr. Richard C. Willan on 21 February 2017, identification confirmed by Dr. Wei-Ban Jie, author of the Re-description of this species.
Ong, Bolaños & Tong (2018) write: "Pseudoceros microcelis can easily be mistaken for Thysanozoon nigropapillosum as they share a similar colour and pattern. Pseudoceros microcelis has only one male gonopore and lacks papillae on its dorsal surface. However, the latter character needs to be carefully examined because the yellow spots are raised and can give the false impression that these are papillae."
This close- up view of the papillae is showing the yellow tip and black base.
Here is a picture of Pseudoceros microcelis Prudhoe, 1989 identified by Rene Ong.
I can't tell for sure if the above pictures of Thysanozoon nigropapillosum are correct identified or if they are in fact Pseudoceros microcelis Prudhoe, 1989.
I checked them again and again and guess the pictures # 1, #2 , #4, #5, and #8 are misidentified, only the specimens of the pictures #3, #6, and #7 seem to have papillae and might be T. nigropapillosum.
