Phyllodesmium cf. poindimiei is characterized by a slender, elongate translucent pink body. The cerata are cylindrical, smooth, curved near the tips, and covered with white spots. The digestive gland ducts are in the lower half orange, then merge into deep pink, they have simple branches. There is a blue iridescence subapically on the cerata, rhinophores and oral tentacles.
Pretty similar is Phyllodesmium poindimiei which differs by white spots on the body, and has pale orange to orange digestive gland ducts.
