The family Gymnodorididae is an interesting family of carnivorous nudibranchs which feed on other sea slugs.
Many more pictures of this species are as Analogium sp. at NUDIPIXEL.
This species was posted on 15 April 2004 at these websites as Gymnodoris sp. A Genus: Stimpson, 1855,
I changed it on 12 September 2010 into Analogium sp. A Genus: Risbec, 1928, with the comment:"Some authors see the genus Analogium as a synonym of Gymnodoris, I will keep it seperate for now."
I changed it on 18 July 2011 into Analogium sp. 01 Genus: Risbec, 1928.
For some genera, such as Trinchesia was the alphabet almost through. I had to change the distinguishing alphabetic character into a number. I had chosen 2-digit numbers, even though '01' looks a little bit stupid, and now is only the genus italic written.
I checked on 16 March 2016 WoRMS again, to my surprise is Analogium unaccepted but Source Not documented, it remains a secret in which publication Analogium Risbec, 1928 was formally synonymized with Gymnodoris Stimpson, 1855.
I placed it again in the genus Gymnodoris Stimpson, 1855 on 16 March 2016.
