Some of the specimens from the Philippines have an orange black spotted appearance.
Robert F. Boland cites Baba's original species description at his Okinawa Slug Site, and there are 18 more pictures (as of 14 July 2016) from Japan (from where it was decribed) which show some variation in this species.
